Christmas
I have throughly enjoyed my time off of school. I love my students and my job, but it's been nice relaxing with Honey & both our families. Of course we had a tacky sweater Christmas party. No pictures from that, but I loved my tree this year.
We spent the weekend before Christmas at my parent's house doing "Christmas" with them. Brock likes my parents house because of the space outside but doesn't like the being outside part ...
We don't get up to Opelika that often & this year we got to spend a whole week with Honey's family since he hasn't used all his vacation time. We ate lots of yummy food, shopped & played with friends and family. It was a very Merry Christmas!

My 24th
I enjoyed my birthday this year more than some years in the past. The reason being was my 18 sweet kiddos. They started the week before with a countdown and were SO excited the day of. They talked about my birthday ALL day & loved guessing my age ha. Here were some sweet things from my babies!
From my sweet team
I think my kids had more fun that I did ;)
Finally catching up on my posts! This one is only 20 days late ... HA

Sweet Daddy
DISCLAIMER -- there is a somewhat graphic picture below. You have been warned :)
My dad has had a problem with his foot for a few years now. He finally had to have surgery. He was on "bed rest" for a week, now he has a hard cast & in a few weeks he will have a soft cast.
Nothing like holiday spirit ...

His text read "Tony the tech does great work" with this picture!
I will continue to think about my sweet mom & youngest sister who are both being good helpers for my dad :)
A wedding, Thanksgiving & Our Anniversary
Please excuse this post being a full MONTH late. We have had a busy few months. We went to a weeding in Tampa the weekend before Thanksgiving. It was our sweet friends W & S (whose engagement party I talked about here). W also introduced Honey and I! Small world :) They had a small ceremony, a fun reception and we had an awesome night! We love you guys.
We spent Thanksgiving in North Carolina with my family which was also our one year anniversary. We went hiking, played lots of board games, ate yummy food and had so much fun. We even shared the top layer of our wedding cake with everyone! More pictures to come ...

Elf on the Shelf
I love teaching third grade. Most days. That's terrible to say. I honestly love it, good days and bad. Sometimes I forget how young my students really are. I was reminded Tuesday afternoon.
I decided to do Elf on the Shelf for the holidays. I told my kids I had a super, awesome surprise for them and asked them to come to the carpet. I told them Santa was sending a special friend and took out the Elf on the Shelf book. Needless to say, they were SO into it. A lot of my kids have one (or two) at home and love that we have one at school too. Our elf, Elfvis Presently, hasn't gotten into too much mischief yet ...

Oh, Honey
Hello. Yes, I am alive. Apparently I am a terrible blogger. I have TONS to catch up on but I wanted to share something first.
My sweet husband is a hunter. He is not enjoying being away from his family's land in Alabama but has found some places to hunt down here. About two months ago, he went hunting in Manatee County outside of Tampa at my Uncle's property (thanks, Uncle L). He shot an 8 point and decided he wanted to get it mounted. **For all you non-hunters - an 8 point is good** So tonight, instead of getting our Christmas tree which has now been postponed until Sunday, we drove ONE HOUR to get the deer.

BAD BLOGGER but Good News
I haven't posted in OVER A MONTH! That definitely makes me a bad blogger in the blog world! I have been more than tired & things have really changed in our little home. I know I told y'all that I was a kindergarten aide but 8 days into the school year, I was on the way to recess with my sweet babies and was pulled into the head of school's office. I was IMMEDIATELY moved into a third grade room and have been there ever since :) SOOOOO
I AM THIRD GRADE TEACHER NOW!!!!!!!
It was a rough couple of days adjusting since I missed preplanning and whatnot but I absolutely love it now. It is so rewarding and tiring and amazing and exciting and exhausting at the same time. I love love love my team and we are having so much fun surviving with the changes we've been through. Third grade has already taught me so much and I honestly enjoy going to work everyday.
So, please excuse my MIAness. I think I have a pretty good reason :) Now, I'm off to walk Brock, have some breakfast and shop for some Halloween and Fall goodies! Happy Fall Y'all!

Excuse Me
for my lack of blogging. I started school Monday & I have been so T-I-R-E-D. The aides started Monday and kids came Wednesday! I know I still haven't talked about my new job so here's the quick story ... We moved to Orlando in November (after we got married :)) which was too late in the school year to get a job. I started subbing in January for two private schools & interviewed for a third grade position at one of the schools this summer. I didn't get that position but I am a kindergarten aide and LOVE LOVE LOVE it already. I love my teacher, love my kids & love the other 3 kindergarten aides. So exciting!!
Honey and I are heading to the beach tomorrow. We're making a quick stop in Tampa to drop off Brock :) and then J & Chris (and the babes) are meeting us at the beach Saturday. So happy to relaxxxxxxxx. I'll be back with some pictures next week!

Before meets After
No telling what's gotten into me BUT I decided to recover our dining room chairs! When I was at JoAnns looking for fabric for my corkboards I ran across some super amazing fabric! Considering it was $39.99 a yard, I knew I needed a coupon, so I went back when I had a 50% off coupon. (Sidenote - I downloaded a JoAnns application on my phone & use coupons from that!) Not only am I recovering chairs, I am also using coupons :)) GO ME! Anyway, here are some before & afters ...
Before

After
After ... I am in LOVE with them!
The table & 5 chairs are from Honey's greatgrandparent's. They were being stored in his parent's basement & junior year in college I needed a table and chairs so they let me use the set and we're still using it. One of my roommates helped cover them in suede due to the outdated blue fabric & it was time for a change, so I chose zebra. Honey is most excited about them ;)

Etsy
here I come! I have always considered myself to be "artsy" but never thought about making anything to sell. I have a friend who's on Etsy & I thought I could do it too. I'M NOW ON ETSY!! My store is called HandmadesByHarris. I only have 2 items listed but more will appear soon :) Check out my store & purchase something if it tickles your fancy!
Going Ons
I have been slacking on the posting! We have been busy busy are here. I go back to school Monday (I'm well aware I haven't updated everyone on that yet but EEEKKKKK) so I have been squeezing lots of fun into the past few weeks!
M got her wisdom teeth out last Thursday (8/4). She would possibly *kill* me if she saw this :) But she's doing much better!
Lunch with J & C (and both babes) on Friday! Trying to break him in ;)
Birthday cake for J's party Saturday night!
This is how Honey ate his snack yesterday. I asked why he was eating out of a coffee filter & his response? "A coffee filter is probably cheaper than a paper towel." Oh how I love him!

Most Wanted: Leaf Earrings
I will admit that I was an avid follower of the Bachelorette this season. I liked JP from day ONE & was soooooo happy that Ashley chose him. Moving on... I like to watch the fashion as well and fell in love with these earrings. Thanks to The Possessionista I now know where to get a pair!

Most Wanted: Classic Q Huge Hillier
Honey asked what I wanted to do with my first paycheck. Oops, I still need to update y'all on that ... Anyway. I said I wasn't sure if there was anything I really wanted to purchase with my first paycheck. "Maybe I'll put it in the bank," I thought. Since that's not really realistic, I decided what I want - a nice purse. But the price isn't so nice. So, the purse will remain a Most Wanted. Sad day :(
Classic Q Huge Hillier Hobo (smoke is my favorite color, FYI ;))
