The Baby

I cannot believe M starts college in Fall, at Auburn nonetheless.  YAY for her being a little more than two hours away!

Birmingham

I haven’t actually talked about our move to Birmingham yet.  Honey’s job is what put us in Orlando two and a half years ago.  He actually started work in Orlando before we got married.  We liked Orlando, but were definitely ready for a change.  He really likes the company he works for, but we wanted to be in Tampa (near my family).  So in September, he started looking for other options.  Fast forward to April, when his company called and asked if we would move to Birmingham.  We weighed our pros and cons, and agreed that this is the perfect time to move.  He moved on April 30th while I finished out the school year.  While he was here and I was in Orlando, he started house hunting.  I made two trips to Birmingham, and house hunted with him as well.

So I packed up our apartment and Honey came down the second weekend in June and helped pack.  Then we moved up to Birmingham on June 10th.

It's hard to tell but there are FOUR pods packed tightly with all our belongings.

P.S. I am DREADING unpacking these!

The car packed with the rest of our junk things that wouldn't fit into the pods.

Beach Week 2013

I cannot wait for Saturday!  {This is still not the "important things" I need to blog about}  This time Saturday, I will be sitting on the beach with my college teaching friends.  If you remember my Beach Week post from two summers ago, I will be playing with my cohort friends for a solid week.  I will definitely have more on that later, but look at these beauties K painted for me.

Most Wanted: TB Boots

I have numerous "important" things I should be blogging about.  More of that to come.  In the meantime, I am literally drooling over these lovelies.

Since we are now living in a place where we have seasons, I think these are a necessity for my wardrobe.

The time we moved

Honey is not very sentimental.  He has (finally) realized this and admitted this to me at least three times over the past few weeks.  This is probably because of all the packing/throwing out/moving.  It was sad to leave our first "home" but we are excited about what's ahead!

What B and I did for most of the week leading up to packing ...

Lunch on Saturday as we packed.
Cute honey!  We did really well packing and moving - no arguing disagreeing whatsoever ;)

Last time at our apartment ...

Let's rewind a few weeks ...

M had her Baccalaureate ceremony and graduation party Sunday, May 19th.  I cannot believe how old she is or the fact that she’s off to college this year!  It will be nice having her two hours away and I hope we get to see her (somewhat) regularly.

Sweet Maude before M's graduation party

                                                             M opening gifts!

Yogurtology bar at M's graduation party - so yummy!

 Graduation night

Graduation night - sooo many people

Instagram collages for the graduate :)

Then, I had to say goodbye to my work friends.  These are girls I have LOVED spending countless hours with the last two years and I definitely already miss them!

From a goodbye party at E's house.  Funny story about the cake - one of my students turned 9 and his mom brought two cakes and left one for the teachers.  So, we used it!

Lunch the week I left.

Exciting Times

Big things are happening in the Harris house.  We are

MOVING!

Betcha thought I was going to say pregnant, huh?  Well, not yet :)

Honey got promoted and relocated to Birmingham, Alabama.  That is far from our original plan.  I say "our" but really, "mine".  Who doesn't love a good plan?  Anyway, we are SO thrilled to be moving back to Alabama.  Honey's family's is from Opelika, which is only two hours from Birmingham.  ANOTHER reason we're super excited is because M will be starting college at Auburn University (where Honey & I met) in Fall.  She will only be TWO hours from us!  I have a cousin in Birmingham and we have loads of college friends living there, so we're pretty pumped.  Stay tuned for more exciting news to come as we house hunt.

Style

I am loving this chair.  The Pursuit of Style is a great blog that I follow!  Lindsay is so stylish, and she constantly has amazing things on her blog.  I want to be stylish like her.  One day.

DIY: Heaboard

I am so excited for summer!

I know it seems far away, but for me it's only 28 days away.  Hey, who's counting?

I love my kids, but I am ready for a break.  I have a few trips already planned and some fun projects in the works.  The first one, is a new headboard.

Honey & I have no headboard.  That may seem unusual to most but my parent's didn't have a headboard growing up, and I love a bed with a lot of pillows and no headboard.  Now I want something new.  Behold my inspiration ...

You can't quite tell, but the headboard is a bright, teal velvet

Ballard Designs is one of my all-time favorite catalogs, but their items are very pricey.  So I am going to create this beauty this summer, with a little help from the hubs ;)

Less than 30 days, people!

Most Wanted: Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM

Two things I know.  I love this purse.  And, I will have to wait a LONG time to own this purse.  Possibly decades.  My mom got this purse as a fiftieth birthday present from my dad.  Honey has already informed me I will not be receiving this purse anytime soon.  It is so pretty.  Please don't make me wait that long, Honey :)

Time Flies!

I cannot believe it has been OVER a year since I've posted last!  I'm enjoying a lazy Saturday, grading some papers, and reading a new book.  Honey is hunting, so B & I are bonding.  He's sleeping in the corner.  I'm playing on the computer.  I'll be back soon.  Promise.
